No more standing in line at Hallmark trying to find just the right card! You can make one yourself with this witty guide. Get Real Greetings is packed full of inspiring and clever card ideas for the REAL moments in life. Some suggested themes include cards for your friend who was just dumped, your mother entering menopause, your friends who just bought their first fixer-upper, a co-worker who got fired, your sister with raging PMS…all WITHOUT sugary sweet sentiments, butterflies, and sad puppy eyes. Get Real Greetings encourages us to use our own “voice” and humor to express our feelings with cards- even when that voice is sarcastic!
The quick tips for basic card making are easy to follow and the suggestions that go with each card are easy to incorporate into your own creations, whatever your own style is. The book offers many funny captions, which will inspire you to make your own unique cards, suited to your friendships.

This book definitely ISN’T for alot of people. The sentiments are sometimes more than sassy; they’re simply downright ugly. An example: Outside of card: “My deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother-in-law” Inside of card: “Lucky bitc*” (page 82).
As a matter of fact, there are SIX PAGES entitled “Surplus Sentiments” where the punchlines inside the cards read “Lucky bitc*” “Stupid Bast****” and “Sucker!”
To be fair, not ALL the cards are that graphic, and some of them are even cute: “I heard you joined the gym” / “Maybe I’ll join too so we can both not go” (page 96). Plus, the card designs are GREAT. I agree with another reviewer: know your target audience.

I just got this book, and I can’t get enough of the sassy humor! The instructions for card designs are great, but the real catch is that the sample cards themselves are really clever and funny! Plus, there are pages of more “sassy sentiments” that you can incorporate into your own cards. I think the best thing about this book is that it shows you new ways to bond with (or make fun of) your girlfriends through homemade greeting cards. If you enjoy laughing with, or at, your girlfriends, this new book is a must-have!

I was disappointed in this book. It was just full of off-beat card ideas and kinda snotty ones too. I was hoping for some nice card ideas.

This is not a book I would recommend, Most of these greetings I would not send to my worst enemy less spend time creating a card for, I found one or three cute and sassy but most were trash.
